There are thousands of charities in the 21st century, each trying to help a particular group in society or around the world. Charities aim to compensate for the inadequacies of the socioeconomic systems of countries and world organizations such as the United Nations which fail to protect and take care of the sick and the needy and other neglected, overlooked, or invisible people or animals that are suffering in our society. While charities do help to address the numerous problems in our world today they are woefully inadequate to end the suffering completely. Every year thousands of admirable volunteers give up their spare time to help those less fortunate than themselves. Many charities are set up because there is insufficient government funding to properly research and find cures for various illnesses and diseases. Every time there is a natural disaster, charities call on the general public to help the victims because the worlds governments do not have the appropriate resources allocated to properly deal with them.

After

There are no charities in Nutopia. There are no groups of people or animals in society which are suffering because they are all properly taken care of. The Core Principles of Nutopia ensure that everyone is treated the same and all have their basic needs met, are free from disease and illness, and are properly cared for from birth until death. The vast amount of human labor which no longer is allocated to the production and supply of superfluous and meaningless products and services means that the research and development of disease, illness, and other causes of suffering are properly addressed in society. There are no longer any victims of persecution, torture, war, and genocide which depend on charities to help them because these do not exist in Nutopia.
