Our Strategy

There is no concept of money or finance in Nutopia and there is no such thing as "buying" and "selling" goods and services. Unfortunately in order for us to transition from the capitalist world we live in today to Nutopia we have no choice, it is a necessary evil that we must participate in the buying and selling of land, products, and services in order for us to get started. There is no free land available, and all the natural resources around the world are in the hands of corporations and governments, so we need to raise the money necessary for us to start the Implementation stage of our strategy. Once we have got off the ground and we have started building our own infrastructure, manufacturing, and production, we can start to eliminate our dependence on the capitalist world as we grow, and eventually we will be entirely self-sufficient.

The Nutopia Project is run entirely by volunteers, and we have no costs other than our web hosting which is minimal. We do not need to fund the project itself because everyone involved gives their own time without needing compensation and they use their own supplies, software, hardware, and anything else they need at their own expense. We have no office space or any other assets, so the "Funding" requirement is entirely for the purpose of implementing the physical Nutopia community we are designing.

It is highly unlikely that hoards of investors will come running to us in any significant numbers because traditionally investors are only interested in one thing, which is to get a significant financial return from their initial investment. There is no ROI with Nutopia, all money raised goes to the implementation of a Nutopia community which is collectively shared by its citizens. No one "owns" any piece of Nutopia, there are no shares or dividends, it has no monetary value whatsoever, so all contributions from funding are essentially donations. That said, over time it is entirely possible that there are wealthy individuals, foundations, and other institutions that will embrace what we are trying to do, and we welcome their financial support.

However, the most likely way that Nutopia will get off the ground is for it to generate funding from the masses. Nutopia is not a scam, it has no interest in turning a profit, or making money, other than as a means to an end. The members, followers, and supporters of Nutopia know this and can see that leveraging our community by crowdfunding is a sensible and viable way to make Nutopia a reality. When the time is right we will call on our members to use their networks of fiends, families, and coworkers, and the people they follow, such as celebrities, and other wealthy individuals to join in and help us build the dream. It is our intention to use a crowdfunding service such as Kickstarter for our funding vehicle and each significant stage of the Implementation will have its own crowdfunding campaign. For example, the first campaign will be to raise the funds for us to buy our first piece of land to build the first Nutopia community model.
