The human race today is taking a tragic path towards its own self-destruction, or at the very least will cause the pain, suffering, and death of billions of people over the coming decades, as we fight over diminishing natural resources. Humans are hard-wired for self-interest so we can't expect them en masse to make selfless choices for the common good of all people now and in the future.

The world we live in is not so bad right? OK, it's not perfect but look at how far we have come in just a couple of centuries. The trouble is that our runaway success has no bounds because we simply ignore natural limits, and we are so arrogant that we think we can just keep getting smarter, and more technically advanced, and things will just get better and better. Wrong! Ironically it is our phenomenal success that will send us back to the dark ages.

Human innovation really is something to be admired but our biggest problem today is not coming up with the next new thing or technological advance, it is that very success that is our biggest problem. We have to stop creating and producing new things, until we have stabilized the planet and we are living in a sustainable way going forward.

So how would life be different in Nutopia compared to how it is now?

The only way to break away from the doomed system we live in today is to build an alternative society in isolation from the existing constraints, demonstrate that it works for everyone, and then people will abandon what they have now for a better life in Nutopia.

We are so used to living in a world full of suffering, conflict, depression, anger, and mistrust, that it's hard to imagine how life in Nutopia could be so different from the life we are forced to accept today.

We instinctively have a knee-jerk reaction to anyone who even proposes limiting our freedoms because we have a long history of mistrusting those in power. Nutopia has no such overbearing masters so it's completely different, will you embrace it?

The best thing about democracy is that anyone can vote. The worst thing about democracy is that anyone can vote.

It is astounding how so many people are enamored with 'Economic Growth' and pursue it at all cost, yet the truth is that it is arguably the biggest threat facing humanity today.

For many years we have been told that welfare and handouts are a bad idea because they make people lazy and stop people from striving for more, but what is the real truth behind it?

Outdated and extreme views of the past must be put aside if we are to escape from the shackles that are holding us back, and common sense must prevail.

When you look at the world around us, you might marvel at the incredible achievements we have made in such a short amount of time, and wonder why we would possibly want to change from our world of plenty where we can seemingly all get whatever we want whenever we want.

We only have one planet, Mars is decades or maybe centuries away from being colonized, so we have no backup if we screw this one up.
