Please read this Susan
Aren’t you tired of reading and writing about any number of social issues, injustices, and downright atrocities all around the world and yet nothing changes? So many people for so long have tried to bring about change by commenting on the issues and hoping for some action, but rarely does anything significant ever happen as a result!
Our Nutopia Project is all about designing and building an alternative system to the broken and corrupt one we have today, and focusing all our efforts on the solution instead of the futile bickering with bigots and naysayers and trying to get the attention of the powerful few who want nothing more than to keep the status quo.
We have a vision (of course a naïve one to many who can’t or refuse to see the world other than through the lens of today) for a better life for all people, and we are attempting to mobilize the global population, many of whom are disaffected, poor, or persecuted people living a nightmare in the crazy and unfair world we live in today, and to channel their collective effort to bring about real and lasting change.
Please take a look around our web site to get a sense for what we are trying to do. We have only just started and we may all be dreamers or crackpots with pipedreams, but maybe, just maybe, this could be the start of something to truly change the system before it is too late for us, our children, and our planet.
Please contact us or email us if you would like to hear more about how you can help.
Thank you for your time!

Framework

Construction

Molded buildings

The structures we build today for housing, offices, factories, and other buildings, are typically made of wood (framing, walls, roofs, floors, etc.), metal (framing, support beams, etc.), concrete, bricks, concrete blocks, sheetrock, plastic (e.g. siding), fiberglass (insulation), and roofing tiles.

There are many disadvantages to building using these materials:

  • Speed
Buildings can take months and sometimes years to complete. Homes are typically built with crews of workers starting with a foundation, building a timber frame, covering the frame with wood, installing insulation, installing windows and doors, wiring, plumbing, HVAC installation, roofing, and siding. There are a lot of stages and each stage requires a crew with a different set of skills.

  • Cost
Due to the large number of different materials and the large amount of labor required from different workers with different skills, and the time required to complete each stage, building costs for structures can be very high.

  • Quality
Traditional buildings are notorious for being poor quality. Timber frames can lead to warping walls, poor workmanship can lead to walls and rooms which aren't square, poor mudding application leaving uneven walls and peaks and troughs over screw holes in sheetrock, leaks in roofs, and other quality issues.

  • Environment
Materials such as wood, plastic, bricks, fiberglass insulation, and roofing tiles all have a negative impact on the environment.

Molded Building Structures are built in Nutopia using a mixture poured in to reusable plastic molds which are assembled to produce walls, floors/ceilings, and roofs. Roofs are flat with built-in drainage systems so that rainwater and snow pass to the ground through pipes in the walls. Flat roofs which are strong allow for rooftop gardens with grass, plants, shrubs, fruits and vegetables, trees, water features, decks, and patios, to improve the positive environmental impact even further for these types of buildings.

Molded Building Structure construction has the following features:

  • Panels
Made from thick, clear plastic, the panels fit together to form molds for walls, floors, and roofs. A simple locking system means that a whole floor (including all walls, floor, and ceiling) can be assembled in a few hours. Panels come in a variety of standard sizes for different wall heights, and for different textured finishes, and different styles of walls and roofs. This variety of different styles, textures, and colors will mean that housing developments will be aesthetically pleasing. Some panels have holes for windows and doors and HVAC vents, and the panel molds are designed so that channels are created running through the walls, ceilings, and floors, to facilitate all plumbing, wiring, and HVAC ducts.

  • Steel Mesh
Steel mesh grids come in standard sizes to be placed in the assembled panel mold sections to give extra stength to walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs. The steel meshes have male and female edges on all four sides so that the steel mesh in each adjacent panel piece can be tied to this piece by simply inserting the male piece over the female piece. Each panel section has a steel mesh installed.

  • Poured Material
Made entirely from sand, water, a binding agent, and coloring, the components are mixed together on site using a mixer. The mixture is easily piped in to the completed panel mold. The mixing machine grinds the sand down to powder and then combines it with water, the binding agent, and coloring to produce a liquid which can be poured which then sets into a smooth, solid, and strong form.

Molded building Structures has the following advantages over traditional building construction:

  • Safety
All walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs are made with the poured mixture. The poured mixture is completely fireproof which means that it is much safer than buildings with timber frames, wooden panels, fiberglass insulation, sheetrock, and roof tiles.

  • Strong
Molded buildings would be much stronger and resilient than timber framed buildings and can easily survive hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes, forest fires, and protected from flooding.

  • Low Cost
Due to the inexpensive materials used, the simple construction methods, the minimal amount of skilled labor required, and the minimal time required to complete construction, the molded buildings will be significantly less expensive than traditional building equivalents.

  • High Quality
Due to the fact that the buildings are constructed using precision molded panels, all walls are square, and there are no imperfections (panels are washed with high pressure water after they have been used). All windows, doors, electrical, plumbing, HVAC work is done with precision because the panel molds make sure that everything is exactly where it is supposed to be, and it is not left to the skill (or lack of) and judgment of the workers.

  • Simplicity
Sand and water are abundant and readily available in most areas of the world. The reusable panels can be shipped to an area and used and reused to build a whole development of housing. Local unskilled labor can be quickly shown how to assemble panels and mix and pour the mixture.

  • Quick
A two story house could be feasibly completed in one week with two people.

  • Low Maintenance
This type of structure would prevent damage from pests such as termites, ants, rodents, and squirrels which can damage the structure of the building and be a nuisance to homeowners. Wooden framed building structures are susceptible to damage from wildlife and damage from the elements like water, ice, snow, and extreme hot and cold temperatures.

When you look at the devastating earthquake in Italy:

you can see why rebuilding our whole civilization with robust modern techniques would save a whole load of pain and suffering around the world.
