Please read this Susan
Aren’t you tired of reading and writing about any number of social issues, injustices, and downright atrocities all around the world and yet nothing changes? So many people for so long have tried to bring about change by commenting on the issues and hoping for some action, but rarely does anything significant ever happen as a result!
Our Nutopia Project is all about designing and building an alternative system to the broken and corrupt one we have today, and focusing all our efforts on the solution instead of the futile bickering with bigots and naysayers and trying to get the attention of the powerful few who want nothing more than to keep the status quo.
We have a vision (of course a naïve one to many who can’t or refuse to see the world other than through the lens of today) for a better life for all people, and we are attempting to mobilize the global population, many of whom are disaffected, poor, or persecuted people living a nightmare in the crazy and unfair world we live in today, and to channel their collective effort to bring about real and lasting change.
Please take a look around our web site to get a sense for what we are trying to do. We have only just started and we may all be dreamers or crackpots with pipedreams, but maybe, just maybe, this could be the start of something to truly change the system before it is too late for us, our children, and our planet.
Please contact us or email us if you would like to hear more about how you can help.
Thank you for your time!

Before & After

Natural Resource Consumption

Before

The manufacturing of goods and the delivery of services requires that we use our natural resources. Consuming natural resources means that natural habitats are destroyed as we strip land to make way for mining operations or we clear forests for lumber and prepare fields for agriculture. There is no consideration for the consequences of such actions, including loss of biodiversity, or the impact on climate change due to the loss of photosynthesizing plants and trees, or the fact that tree populations are massively declining. To consume natural resources in a way that preserves the environment has a cost associated with it, for example by using less destructive methods of tree removal to prevent forests and rain forests from disappearing, or by replanting trees to offset the loss of trees cut for lumber. Capitalism places no value on the environment so the additional cost simply cannot be justified when profit is the only goal and the only thing that matters.

After

Environmental Respect and Sustainability are two Core Principles of Nutopia. All policies must adhere to all Core Principles so all manufactured goods and services in Nutopia must protect the environment and ensure that natural resources are consumed in a sustainable way. That means that if an item is manufactured then the manufacturing process must have a net zero effect on the environment or measures must be taken to compensate for the negative effect. Similarly if a resource such as trees is used to manufacture an item, then trees must be replanted so that the net effect of the tree consumption is zero and the continued availability of natural resources is ensured.
