Insurance is intended to protect us from the risk of a loss of some sort or another. Auto, home, health, accident, sickness, unemployment, casualty, life, burial, property, disability, and liability are all types of insurance, some of which are compulsory depending on where you live. Insurance can be very expensive depending on variables such as personal history, location, and age, and represents a significant percentage of a typical household budget. Insurance companies make huge amounts of money from ordinary people, and often it can be difficult to get payment when the time comes for an insurance claim. Insurance policies can be complex and some policyholders often don't understand all the fees and coverage included in the policy.

After

There is no concept of insurance in Nutopia. People do not own any land, property, or possessions so there is nothing to be insured. People do not drive vehicles and endanger themselves, their passengers, and other people on the road. Healthcare is a community service where all people get the healthcare they need during their life instead of what their insurance will cover. There is no life insurance because all people have their basic needs met and do not need an insurance payment if their partner or parent dies. If someone has an accident and is unable to work for a period of time, they are taken care of during their absence from working, and simply return to working after they have recovered.
