Before

Since the turn of the century the world has been consumed with the battle against terrorism all over the globe. We are told by our leaders and our military, and we therefore convince ourselves, that we can win the "war on terror" and that our military might will triumph over such evil. The truth is that no one is inherently capable of acts of terrorism, instead terrorists are shaped by life experiences or grievances passed down by generations, usually because of poverty, resentment for others who are better off, or differences over religion. Ubiquitous weapons, ammunition, and explosives make it easy for those who would do harm to perpetrate acts of terror. Terrorism will continue to be with us as long as there are disaffected people around the world, and when we kill innocents while trying to destroy them, we simply ensure that more people will join their ranks and more generations will continue their plight for many years to come.

In Nutopia the conditions are such that everyone has their basic needs met, everyone has the same quality of life as everyone else, there is no organized religion, and there are no weapons in the community. The lack of emotions such as envy and resentment which fuel the desire for conflict means that no one has any motive to do harm to others and there is no way to do harm to others in the way that terrorists do today.
